Taxi Driver Sweded by Michel Gondry

22/12/2011

Renowned director Michel Gondry has "sweded" Martin Scorsese's classic Taxi Driver, creating an inventive, witty and unexpectedly charming version of the dark film. Sweding simply means to remake or re-think something with what ever means or materials you can get your hands on. Gondry takes the lead by assuming the role of Travis Bickle himself.

Lele Saveri Interview

Incubi et Succubi

Italian born photographer Lele Saveri divides his time between Milan and New York, and I think this makes for a strong precedent in his work. Having just published  a new book entitled Incubi et Succumbi, what better time would it be to sit down and fire some questions his way. Talking about his first experience of picking up a camera to his desire to stay on the move and the hope of shooting the Pope it was a real privilage to talk with a genuine talent like Lele.

Running through till February 4th, 2012 is Lola Schnabel's first solo painting exhibition in the United States. On show at Kathy Grayson's The Hole, these five works are the result of over a years work. Each painting depicts an episode in a narrative of androgenous youth encountering each other on a remote Greek island. They depict a time of love before sexuality, with the nude youths, occasionally shrouded in sheepskins, romping playfully about the teal and tan landscape.
