Frank Lloyd Wright's Kenneth Laurent House for Sale

01/12/2011

Kenneth Laurent House designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in Rockford, Illinois is up for auction. The property which was constructed between 1949 and 1952, was originally designed for a wheelchair-bound veteran. As such the single level, 2,500 square foot home was Wrights first endeavor into designing an open plan arrangement within the form of an ellipse. The family also commissioned custom furnishings for the home, with a pair of barrel chairs, panel armchairs, six hassocks, various tables, and wrought iron fireplace grates being included in the auction. The expected sale price from the December 15th auction will be between 500,000 and 700,000 USD.
