"The Construction School" - James Langdon
11/06/2012James Langdon is set to present his ongoing research project exploring the subject of the Construction School at Corner College in Zürich. The Construction School was an experimental design programme in Bristol, England from 1964 to 1979. The experimental school's first phase which ran from 1964 to 1968 concentrated on interdisciplinary working and collaboration, the second phase from 1975 to 1977 was remembered as a radical attempt to "decentralize the educational structure of the school." The work at this time by the school's founder Norman Potter represented a period of intense critical thought which examined the structure of design education. Potter particularly focused on the relational aspects of design and the mechanics of social interactions that shaped design processes. James Langdon's "The Construction School" is on show from June 29, 2012.
