Massimiliano Fuksas - La Nuvola09/07/2012
La Nuvola (the Cloud), in the EUR district of Rome, is an ongoing project by Massimiliano Fuksas, an Italian architect known for his combination, and often contrasting, of architectural styles into a single structure.
La Nuvola is a large rectangular, translucent building which contains a central, cloud-shaped, 10,000 square metre structure of teflon and steel, suspended between the ceiling and floor. Inside this 'cloud' will be an auditorium and meeting room, the focal point of the congress centre which will also house cafes, restaurants, exhibition spaces and a hotel.
Fuksas, known for his projects such as Milan's FieraMilano and Vienna's Twin Tower, is also curretly involved in China's Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport project, in cooperation with Knippers Helbig.
