The Imposter is a documentary about a 23-year-old French-Algerian man, Frédéric Bourdin, who successfully steals the identity of a teenage boy missing from his home in Texas for over three years. Posing as their child, Bourdin begins a new life with the boy’s family in a poverty stricken Texas town. Despite all the clear evidence he is not who he says he is, the family welcome him into their home. The barely believable story is masterfully told by London native and debut director Bart Layton. An interview with Layton can be found at i-D Online.
