Shamus Clisset @ Storefront Bushwick
15/05/2013Shamus Clisset (AKA FakeShamus), makes some of the most unique and darkly-humorous art in the digital sphere today, incorporating a range of ghoulish characters and low-brow insinuations into his incredibly detailed compositions. Using physically-based raytracing software, the artist produces hyper-real vignettes that delve into his own obsessions and personal history with an acute sense of the absurdity of our futuristic modern world.

The History of Typography
The History of Typography
07/05/2013In this great little stop-motion film, Canadian designer Ben Barrett-Forrest covers the evolution of typefaces, from Gutenberg's printing press to the endless possibilities offered by modern computers. It's interesting to learn how many of the developments in type were for practical, rather than purely stylistic reasons (like italics, which were initially designed so that a typist could fit more letters on a page).
