Night Track

A Post New Film

With their roots pegged in innovation its easy to forget there is a simplistic past to Nike's running heritage. The Night Track is a symbol of the brands history and influence in running. We live our lives at 100 miles an hour now, always hustling, but we need to get that run in, we need to 'Make it Count'. For a lot of us the only way to do this is late in the evening.

Moving Picture Show by Jürg Lehni

07/05/2012

Across the globe, analogue projections are being given up in favor of digital movie projections in cinemas, a move which is making the 35mm film format and the equipment used to produce and screen this film more and more obsolete. Moving Picture Show which is part of the International Poster and Graphic Design Festival, "re-appropriates a process normally used by the film industry to etch subtitles into the emulsion layer of 35mm film using a high-powered precision laser. By etching away the emulsion, only the clear base of the film remains.

Alex Turnbull Interview

19/03/2012

The Stussy International Tribe concept and movement has throughout my career and earlier in my youth played a massive role in the way I saw street culture, and why I was so attracted to it. The concept is still very much at the heart of what I do today whether it be with my own projects or with external clients. Alex "Baby" Turnbull was an influencer before their was such a word, as one of the original members of the Stussy International Tribe, Alex has played a huge role in the history of Stussy.

Daniel Askill Interview

The Impenetrable Medium

Defining Daniel Askill as simply a filmmaker is a huge understatement. Daniel's approach to films, whether they are commercial or more artistic projects, always manage to maintain a dreamlike state that captures you instantly. He has exhibited at the Venice Biennale, had countless solo exhibitions, created and directed his own short films, all while balancing a steady stream of corporate jobs and music videos. I caught up with Daniel recently to talk about inspirations, projects and the very familiar struggle between ‘jobs’ and artistic freedom.

Pina will ultimately go down as not only as one of Wim Wenders great films, but the beginning of a new era in his career. The director of such classics as Paris, Texas and Wings of Desire wanted to make a film documenting the work of the his longtime friend and legendary choreographer Pina Bausch. It was a project that the two of them had been trying to make for over twenty years, but couldn’t figure out how to make it work. It wasn’t until Wenders saw his first 3D film that he finally knew how to make the film.
