LC:M Designers Play 'Pass the Question' with Dazed & Confused

20/06/2013

During a week of studio visits, Dazed & Confused challenged seven LC:M designers to come up with one quick-fire question they could put to the next designer in their version of Chinese Whispers.  Craig Green, Kit Neale, Matthew Miller, James Long, Bobby Abley, Shaun Samson, and Nasir Mazhar all took part in the game, revealing amongst other things, fast food preferences and a hatred of zips. Press play.

Anna-Sophie Berger Interview

Fashion is Fast

It's been a while since we've heard from Anna-Sophie Berger, although if you frequent the same websites we do, hers is a name you might have seen over the last couple of weeks. The young designer made good on her excellent 2011 "m/m2" collection with her latest output, a comprehensive women's collection that she debuted at Die Angewandte's graduate show (the Viennese fashion institution from which she has just graduated). "Fashion is Fast" is a wonderfully conceptual offering that takes a critical look at the fickle world of fashion and the trends that move it forward.

Bikini Kill Capsule Collection for VFILES

Bikini Kill Capsule Collection for VFILES

10/06/2013

Although I'm not inclined to wear dresses, I am rather taken by Kathleen Hanna's 'Kill Me' tee-shirt dress, a remake of the one she wore onstage in 1993, included in the small capsule collection she's just designed for VFILES. For those unaware, Hanna fronted seminal riot grrrl group Bikini Kill in the '90s, and the new collection of items - which includes clothing, signed posters, a book and chap stick - references the band and the aesthetic they ran with at the time.

Casely-Hayford FW13 Collection Video

05/06/2013

We love Sean Frank's new campaign video for Casely-Hayford, bringing to life the British designers’ ice hockey inspired collection. The FW13 collection effortlessly highlights elements of the sport that have become infused into streetwear over the years, together with the more familiar Casely-Hayford brand aesthetic of bespoke tailoring.

O. BALLOU

Launched earlier this year in London, menswear label O. BALLOU presents a classic vision of sophisticated, yet casual fashion for today's discerning and worldly young man. A personal interest in production values of the highest order meant that founder and designer, Simon Cato, spent three years researching craft and production in Italy and Sicily, sourcing materials and the craftsmen to shape them, before bringing mention of the brand to the public sphere - a move that is evident in the refined, elegant construction of O. BALLOU's Fall/Winter 2013 collection.

Confirmed speakers include: Michelle Bobb-Parris (Photographer, Blogger and Fashion Consultant), Eve Kalinik (Nutritionist), Chi Chi Menendez (Creative Director Le Baron) and Kathryn Ferguson (Filmmaker).

Fruition Las Vegas x Dr. Romanelli 4G Givenchy Archive Collection

27/05/2013

Fruition Las Vegas is set to open the doors to its new Los Angeles store on June 1 and to celebrate the occasion, the retailer has teamed up with Dr. Romanelli for a unique collection. The '4G' collection is made up of remnant Givenchy artifacts that have been reconstructed and designed by the good doctor, resulting in a one-of-a-kind capsule that mixes old and new, high and low, in line with Givenchy's Fall/Winter 2013 ready-to-wear collection.

The collection will release at the new store on June 1 as well as on Fruition's website.

An Interview with Hannes Hogeman of Très Bien Shop

13/05/2013

As streetwear (in the traditional sense) channels an increasingly high-end aesthetic, and, accordingly, high-fashion continues to mimic street trends, there are a select few menswear retailers who hit the nail on the head season after season, with curated selections that appeal to evolving trends and tastes. Sweden’s Très Bien Shop is such a store.
