Cacti and Conch

27/03/2012

Sang Bleu posted about a intriguing event put on in collaboration with the Freie Universität that we just had to share with you. Based on John Cage’s scores Branches (for amplified plant sounds and 4 performers, 1976) and Inlets (for water-filled conch shells and 3 performers, 1977) - a group of artists created instruments out of cacti and water filled conches and played for hours in a huge greenhouse in Berlin.

Caroline created this playlist for us of some of her favorite mixes.

Ryan McNamara "Still"

26/03/2012

It's your last chance to see Ryan McNamara's first solo exhibition at Elizabeth Dee gallery in New York which closes down on April 7th. The special thing about this show is that for the first three weeks of the exhibition Ryan was in the gallery everyday waiting for passers by to collaborate with him, the documentation of which being transformed into artwork which has been exhibited in this second portion of the show. This second stage opened on March 20th and is by far the most exciting and unexpected part of the project.
