Crystal Moselle Recipe

09/03/2012

Crystal Moselle is a New York based Director - and in my opinion one of the best young directors in the world - her first feature documentary 'Excavating Taylor Mead' was part of the 2006 Whitney Bienniel, since then she has made films for the likes of The Virgins, Philip Lim, worked with Spike Jonze, Levis, The New York Times and numerous others. She's also a health food addict so when we asked her for a recipe, she hit us with something to keep you on your toes, Split Pea Soup.

Primary Information present as part of their amazing ongoing Online Resources project, a series of Seth Siegelaub’s publications from the 1960s and early 1970 made available for free PDF download. As an independent curator, author, researcher and art dealer, Siegelaub had a huge impact on the Conceptual Art movement. Along with his New York gallery in the 1960's, he edited and published books which served as an exhibition unto themselves and helped form the notion of contemporary artist books.

Oscar Tuazon at the Whitney Biennial

07/03/2012

Oscar Tuazon’s For Hire piece has debuted in the Lobby Gallery of the 2012 Whitney Biennial. The site specific piece is a series of rectangular modules created from galvanized steel, acrylic, douglas fir, glass and plastic. "Tuazon’s environment offers a meditation on the materiality of utilized substances and a hint of practical usage via the occasional screen door, parts of an elevator, fluorescent lights, staircases, tile, and a shower." This allows the viewer to reflect on the pieces evolving function.

Super-Crans

The Tour de Super-Crans (built 1963-1969) stands on a high plateau overlooking the Rhone Valley in the Valais canton of Switzerland. It's architect, Jean-Marie Ellenberger was born in Bern in 1913, and moved to Crans-Montana, the ski resort town that the tower stands above, in order to combat the tuberculosis he had contracted in his early childhood.

Ian Astbury Interview

07/03/2012

Since meeting Ian Astbury a few years ago through a mutual friend, the late, great Shawn Mortensen, I have been able to cross paths with the artist in various parts of the world, each time as intriguing as the last. Often updating each other on various projects, when POST NEW launched and news of The Cult releasing a new album, what better time to interview the man about the latest project. In true philosophical and "nomadic" style that I have been able to embrace from Ian over the years, he answered my questions in true form.

Micah Cohen Interview

Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen

Micah Cohen at only 30 years old has made a name for himself and his brand Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen, through his mission to produce wearable and accessible clothing while comprimising none of the contemporary aesthetic and attitude - in the brand's own words "blurring the line between fashion forward and traditional." The result has become hugely popular not only in the United States but around the world, with Cohen continuing to upset the global fashion market with his refreshing attitude towards both design and business.

Celine Fall 2012

05/03/2012

In an intimate presentation in Paris, Phoebe Philo as you would expect has created a Fall Celine wardrobe that will leave women all over the world drooling. When speaking of her collection the pregnant designer laughed “Ergh, I’d rather not say anything this season, just write what you see.” For Fall the pants are a little more voluminous and cropped at the ankle, the coats oversized, statement knits and colour-blocked furs are tied together by practical iPad envelopes and mink bags.
