Project Zoltar presents: Zoltar the Magnificent
Project Zoltar presents: Zoltar the Magnificent
30/11/2013Project Zoltar, the multi-platform creative collective spearheaded by Dan Macmillan and Kieron Livingstone, celebrates ten years since its inception. A deliberately disruptive entity, Project Zoltar was born as an antidote to the dying art of British eccentricity. On November 26th, Project Zoltar sets off on its inaugural world tour with the launch of Zoltar the Magnificent (foreword by Jake & Dinos Chapman), a book marking ten years of rupturing expectations of visual culture and toasting to the possibilities of infinitely more.

Baron by Tyrone Lebon
Baron by Tyrone Lebon
21/11/2013The second issue of Baron is a photographic journey over a 12-month period, photographed by Tyrone Lebon and guest edited by Max Pearmain. A central theme for this issue has been to question the evolvement of sexuality in today’s image sharing society. For example, the voyeur and exhibitionist were once used to describe those who spied or exhibited themselves to unsuspecting individuals, now it is increasingly used to define the audience and performers of reality projects. In our late post-modern age, sexual desires have been packaged, marketed, and are sold as adult entertainment.

Ruby Sky Stiler Studio Visit
Ruby Sky Stiler is a pop of color as she comes out to meet me in front of her Gowanus studio, which is nestled amongst auto repair shops and a Home Depot. We walk up to her studio, which is painted white and roughly organized into stacks and piles of books and materials. In the middle of the space are two sculptures that Stiler is currently working on. The works function like prisms — each facet becoming an ancient nude, or a minimal sculpture, or an abstract material exploration, depending on your viewpoint.
