“T-Guardian” Sculpture by Christoph Luckeneder & Manfred Kielnhofer

12/06/2013

The “T-Guardian” sculpture, designed by artists Christoph Luckeneder and Manfred Kielnhofer, is currently on a tour of museums and exhibition spaces around the world, and recently made its way to Venice for La Biennale. The artwork – which depicts a red cloaked spectral figure poised atop a metal cross – has shown up in a different spot in the city each day. The piece is thematically similar to previous works by both artists; Kielnhofer is known for his series of shrouded “Timeguard” figures that incorporate themes from fantasy and mythology, while Luckeneder is known for his “light cactus” wire sculptures that play with various colors of light.
