Renato Nicolodi 'Libido Moriendi'

16/11/2011

'Libido Moriendi' is young Belgian artist Renato Nicolodi’s first solo exhibition in the United States. The architectonic prints and sculptures in this body of work detail Nicolodi’s formal investigation of that which is at once familiar and foreign. His distinctive architectural language draws the viewer’s attention not only across the smooth surfaces and clean lines of the monolithic sculptures, but also toward the act of perception itself.

Harmonic Convergence by Christopher Janney

14/11/2011

To coincide with Art Basel Miami Beach and Design Miami 2011, artist and sound architect Christopher Janney has created his latest commission for Miami international airport entitled Harmonic Convergence. The piece which replaces his 2007 Harmonic Runway commission at the airport is an interactive light and audio piece which is littered with video sensors, adjusting the experience depending on how many people occupy the pedestrian walkway.

I consider space to be a material. The articulation of space has come to take precedence over other concerns. I attempt to use sculptural form to make space distinct. – Richard Serra
