17/02/2012The Proenza Schouler Fall 2012 runway showing as expected was nothing short of astounding, with the collection focusing on the idea of protection. Playing with proportion and meticulous detailing through their boxy jackets and pants, whether in stiff cotton or leather.

Maxim Emelyanov | Interview
Maxim Emelyanov is young expressionist photographer born in Russia and currently taking up residence in Northern Thailand, where he is collaborating on a film project with Maria Kechaeva. His work is research driven and explores societies connection with nature and the ephemeral state of his surrounds. You cannot help but immerse yourself in his photographs, entering a world that should be familiar but seems distant and forbidden. Maxim was kind enough to speak with us about his new project and also gave us an exclusive set of new imagery from his time in Thailand.

Haroshi Interview
Haroshi Interview
16/02/2012Haroshi's work first came to my attention in 2010 when he was commissioned by Nike CEO Mark Parker to use his unique style to create a sculpture of the iconic Nike Dunk. Haroshi makes pop art from pop culture and in particular the skateboard deck, he uses used decks to recreate other objects, the result is impressive to say the least. The concept might sound simple, or even a little contrived, but the result is so well crafted you can't help but become fascinated. I spoke to Haroshi about his art.

Ohne Titel Fall 2012
Ohne Titel Fall 2012
16/02/2012Alexa Adams and Flora Gill of Ohne Titel showed a bold Fall 2012 collection, exploring the idea of protection in a fascinating way and presenting strong architectural elements which were truly mesmerizing. A collaboration with Albertus Swanepoel saw a series of black hats reminiscent of warriors helmets, with the large sculptural scarves serving to protectively conceal the models face's further. Keeping things predominately monochrome with a hint of navy, the palette was inspired by textile artist Sheila Hicks, which serves to toughen the Ohne Titel 'armored' woman for Fall.

The world is really looking up for David and it was great to catch up with him to talk about the past, present and future.
