Rammellzee: The Equation, The Letter Racers
09/02/2012The reclusive artist that was Rammellzee started his career in Queens tagging on the side of A train cars, he then moved on to become an influential lyricist in the exploding hip hop scene. His art is the result of his obsession with futurism and linguistics, the Hip-Hop and graffiti pioneer passed away at age 49 in 2010. The artists “The Letter Racers” sculptures are on show for the first time in NYC, created over the course of 14 years from found objects which explore metaphysical concepts in the physical world.

Patrick Mohr is one of the most exciting designers to come out of Germany in recent times, making a name for himself since the brands inception in 2009. Playing with unexpected silhouettes, clean design and pure materials, his avant-garde take on sportswear has definitely made him a designer to watch. Patrick was kind enough to speak with us after presenting an incredible Fall/Winter showing in Berlin.
Megan Christiansen: For those who don't know about the brand can you just tell us a little bit about your background?

The showing at Galerie Gmurzynska in Zurich opened last week and our friend Mandi Lennard was kind enough to snap some images of the opening reception while she was there with Scott. Paintings, sculptures and un-circulated US currency reliefs are accompanied by rare works from the infamous Mexico City show in 2010 where Campbell set fire to his artworks after an argument with the gallery owner.
// Bless This Mess shows through to March 2012 at Galerie Gmurzynska.
