Still House Interview

Incubator

When we set out to start POST NEW, we set a pretty clear frame work. We wanted to document gamechangers or influential movements. That didn't mean they had to be current, we referred to the term newness as something that described change in any time or era. The Still House is an emerging arts organization that is artist run; the perfect place to incubate the next generation of gamechangers.

Italian furniture manufacturers Mattiazzi have worked with designer Konstantin Grcic to create a range of chairs entitled the MEDICI. The designs which are carefully constructed from American walnut, Douglas fir, and thermo-treated ash, are the perfect balance between form and function. Designed to work with the wood’s natural structure and DNA, the series offers a durability (to be used indoors or out) and style that is quite unsurpassed.

Heavy Vibrations - A Musical Portrait of South African Youth

02/05/2012

Let’s start this off with a bit of a confession: I am a white English writer with South African permanent residency who’s spent the last 15 years living in England, America and here in South Africa. My passion is street culture and everything that comes free with it, and right here right now South Africa is a gold mine for original, fresh-to-death, commercial-free culture, but that may well change in the not-too-distant future.

MC: I read that you started as a fashion photographer, what sparked the move to fine art photography?
