Stedelijk Museum Gets A New Identity
23/08/2012The Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam is undergoing a radical redesign at the hands of internationally renowned design agency, Mevis & Van Deursen. Based in the Netherlands, the duo had previously created the graphic identity of the museum's Temporary Stedelijk program from 2010 to 2012. The museum's visual rebranding will be developed further in the coming weeks, and will encompass a new logo, website design, publications, newsletter, stationery and posters, among other applications.

Once described as “one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most innovative, unusual and personal works of architecture”, the house is an insight into the architect's development. Its circular spiral plan, concrete-block detailing and interior design all make this one of Wright's most remarkable works.

Steven Harrington is an artist, designer and entrepreneur. Based in Los Angeles where he lives and works, Steven creates his signature symbols, patterns and characters in a vibrant and colorful Californian palette inspired by his native environment. Known for his collaborative work with a number of companies, including Generic Surplus with whom he has just designed a sneaker, Steven also heads his own creative studio, National Forest, from which he operates on a day-to-day basis.

Eunjae Lee "Silent Machine" Tea Set
21/08/2012Silent Machine is a tea set by design graduate Eunjae Lee, based on the components of an engine. Reflecting aesthetic interpretations of functional forms, the dark matt, cylindrical pieces resemble nuts, bolts, screw threads and washers, and were designed by Lee while studying at HDK School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg. The designs are to be presented at the Formex 2012 design fair in Stockholm this week. Rather than the ornate nature that tea sets are known for, mechanical regularity is achieved through mathematically formulated silhouettes. Lee says of the project:

Bernadette Corporation: 2000 Wasted Years
20/08/20122000 Wasted Years is a retrospective by Bernadette Corporation, to be held at Artists Space, New York, between September 9 and December 16, 2012. The exhibition will take a look at the works authored by the group since their inception in the early ‘90s. Conceived out of the downtown New York party scene, Bernadette Corporation have morphed through various stages and creative outlets over the course of their existence, starting with a move into women's fashion with the release of a line between 1995 and 1997.

Continuing with our ongoing visits to artists' studios, we recently had the chance to visit photographer Jeremy Liebman at his Bushwick workspace.
POST NEW: Where is your studio based?
Jeremy Liebman: The pictures were taken in my old studio in Bushwick, but I moved into a new place in Greenpoint last month. It's about 850 square feet with really high ceilings, arched windows and an elevator that opens into the space.
