Doha is the sight of Richard Serra's latest large scale sculpture. '7' is located on a 250ft area of man made pier outside of Qatar's Museum of Islamic Art, the host of the piece. 80ft in height, the seven steel plates are each 8ft wide, 4 inches thick and 24 meters high. The giant steel structure is already on its way to its oxidised state so well known of Serra's work.

Labelled '7' the piece is heptagonal in shape and is intended to comprehended as a sculpture devoid of specific western or islamic ties, instead simply a highly accessible monumental piece for the international city to appreciate.
