Colen’s new works reference his 2011 Trash exhibition, in which the debris of the everyday was given a new identity, simultaneously as tools in the creation of the works as well as becoming parts of the works themselves.

These same scraps of life have been transformed again, through becoming works in-and- of themselves in the new exhibition. Remnants that were once the artist’s pawns in creation, have now taken on a sense of self-determination, eliciting their own individual possibilities, through their histories, and their interactions in a new context. Having launched at Gagosian's Athens location on April 5th, the show is open through till July 5th.
