New Gallery: Paper

29/08/2012

Launching 1 September, the newest contemporary art gallery in Manchester makes no fuss about what they do. Simply put, Paper Gallery sells affordable works on paper by local and international artists at various stages of their careers. For the gallery, works on paper includes drawings, paintings, prints, photography as well as hand drawn animation. Occupying Sarah Hardacre’s former studio, the gallery is located at Mirabel Studios in central Manchester. One of the four founders, David Hancock, explained that Paper aims to be unintimidating for those who may be anxious about purchasing artwork and up front about the affordable costs of the work on display in the gallery.

Hancock says of the project: ‘Paper offers the public an opportunity to view and purchase the work of our artists both in the gallery and on-line. The gallery will become a platform to introduce the public to the work of our artists. This will compliment the website which will form a useful resource, mapping the careers of these artists. It will also contain online content such as interviews and articles.’
